Blogging is not a strong point for me. But I do want to try and make it a more regular thing. I started this blog about 3 years ago but am starting over with it.
We are the Israel family. My husband and I met in the 4th grade. James my husband is originally from Haiti so it took a lot of Heavenly Father's help to get us to be together. But I will talk more about that later.
We are a pretty fun family we have our arguments of course but I think you the readers will enjoy getting to know us.
House of Israel is currently a state of mind and not an actual place because we don't own a house or rent one. We live at my parents house, trying to save as much as we can and pay off as many debts as we can. It is hard but totally worth it. There are 4 1/2 of us in 1 room. James who is my husband, myself Katie, Halle our 4 year old, Emma our almost 1 year old and the little boy in my stomach who is due October 1st of this year.
Now before you judge us, or tell us we are crazy, this is what was best for our family. My parents are always willing to help no matter what which makes them great people. We still help out with a few bills and things but most of our money has been saved or paid to all of our debts.
Why am I sharing this? Because it is good to remember how hard we worked to get the things that we want. We are not completely debt free but it is nice to be able to answer the phone and not be affraid it is a debt collector on the other line.
Its hard when your friends arround you all have homes but yet you do not, but the time will come when we get our place. Alot of our friends and family were ale to get a family member or friend to help them get a loan on a house. James and I are choossing the road less traveled and getting it on our own. Sure it helps that we are living practically rent free, but we will be able to say that we did it ourselves for the most part. I am not bashing or making fun of those who do get help to get a loan for a house. I think its great that they have family members that can help them out. I just know that we will have a greater appreciation for our house.
